My husband and I celebrated 10 years this month and we made a little getaway down to Austin. It’s been a couple of weeks and I can’t believe I am just now sharing the wonderful pictures… But I finished the pieces I was working on and started getting ready for our trip next week and thought I’d share a little picture tour.
I realized a couple of things… We really live in the moment and I totally forget to take pictures!! That is a good thing, I think!! I also realized through the pictures that I love clocks- I think I got all the clocks in Austin!! We also ran across a wonderful field of Sunflowers on the way home so I have lots of pictures of sunflowers and they are beautiful!!! Reminds me of Kansas. It was also the Republic of Texas Bike Rally… that was fun!! You should also know our trip was our second one there and we didn’t do all the things we did the first time… But we did hit a couple eateries that I just loved!! So if you plan a trip you must go to Kerbey Lane Cafe, Magnolia Cafe, & Iguana Grill in Lakeway- amazing view of Lake Travis. We also drove a little South and hit the outlets in San Marcos. Can you Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and William’s and Sonoma all in one little place… I got my new bedding!!! So excited!!
Now for the pictures!! Enjoy!!
Started with the bike rally!! It was abundantly clear we were yuppie city folk among the not so dressed group around us!! But it was so fun to watch!! I took soo many pictures but here are a few!!
Yes that is Twisted Sister!!! Funny huh??!!
We ate at the Iguana Grill which was the best Mexican food, but it also overlooked Lake Travis. Every time we come to Austin I always want to move to Lakeway or BeeCave area. It’s the prettiest. Reminds me of Seattle with Sunshine!!!
The next night we came back down to go to the Congress Street Bridge to see the bats… along with oh 200 hundred others!!
And then the on the way home I had to capture the sunflowers!! They were at the rest stop and just amazing!!
Love how they are turning towards the sun and just soaking it all in!!
Hope you enjoyed the moments I captured!! I’ll have a whole lot of posts coming soon!! They pick up their furniture tomorrow, so I can finally share it with you!!!
Happy Anniversary, you two! Thanks for the pictures of Austin! Austin has been on my “list” for a long time. I really want to go there to dance at a western bar. I know that sounds bad. My Husband will love seeing all the bikes and the crazy people on them (the tiger suit) Ha! He has a Harley so that would be right up his alley! Thanks again for the travel tips to Texas! I’m coming one day! Glad to hear your customer is picking up soon can’t wait to see the finished pieces! And yes, those sunflowers are so amazing how they turn toward the sun! I took pictures of a field last year near Avila Beach, CA.
Happy Summer!
