Spring Break Getaway to Duck Dynasty

Well if you know me, follow me on facebook, or just got here… We love Duck Dynasty and all of the bearded boys on that show… and Miss Kay and the wives too.  But the boys crack us up!! The Robertson’s are sooo much more than funny though,  they love the Lord and they live the Word!! It’s been a long time that I could sit down with all of my family and watch a show together without covering someone’s ears or eyes.  {Now, if I could talk them into coming on an hour earlier that would be awesome!! hint hint, wink wink}

Last week was spring break for us, and my boys asked me if we could go see their warehouse.  I had no idea there was a physical store you could go in… but seriously we can order online kids.  But when my oldest told me his friends went and met Willie and Si… mama started packing!! And off we went the next morning!! Not a one fight the whole way there- 4.5 hours for us.

We woke up the next morning {Wednesday} excited to not only be there on show day but to go visit.  We pulled up at just the right time.  Si had pulled in and got out at the same time.  My kids jumped and ran giddy with excitement.  And truth be told, so did I!!! We were a few people behind and in a line to take a picture and meet him.  Mia has watched us play it back a few times {hint hint it’s on too late} and was clapping her hands and saying Yay!! She was ready to meet him!! He kept saying “Hey” to her a couple of times smiling and it was so sweet!! She even signed and called him Daddy- oh no Miss Mia but he is a daddy, I said.  What a sweet guy Mr Si Robertson is !! I was on cloud nine that we made the trip!!

If you could meet anyone who would it be?? My kids thought this was the absolute best!!

Then we headed over to the other side of the building and went into the little store.  Grabbed up some new tee’s and Willie’s book- which by the way is an awesome read.  Incredible story there Jack!! You can order your copy here of their site.

duck-dynasty-big-rigThe kids loved the big Duck Dynasty Semi.  It was pretty cute having them all stand up next to each guy!!

Mia was loving all the trucks and we got this cute picture behind Si’s truck!! {I should tell y’all she got one of his duck calls and it makes an awesome speech therapy tool!!}

But the real fun was coming back that evening.  We thought we would see if we could see anyone else before heading out to dinner.  And the crowds that stood outside the door were crazy.  I stood there thinking how on earth do they do this everyday… do they do this everyday???  Bless their hearts!! And out came Jep’s wife with a sleeping baby on her shoulder and she was bombarded… and Jep came out shortly later in a hurry. John Luke pulled up in his Jeep and to see all the teenagers {and grannies} just swooning, including my daughter was too cute.  He posed for a lot of pictures. But we went around the side and got in a line unsure of who were about to see… and it was Jase!! Oh the joy in my kids faces!! It was awesome!! We have taken some pretty awesome trips at spring break over the last couple of years and this impromptu trip to West Monroe, La seriously was one of the best!!

We took so many more pictures but I’ll keep those for us!!  But as we were getting ready to leave, I took this quick shot of my car behind one of their trucks… wondering do you think they could do a turquoise camo partial wrap thing on my Expedition??? I like the whole pink camo thing… but I am an aqua girl you know!! Just giggle with me!! Thanks for letting me share a little bit of our fun!! Now go watch Duck Dynasty A& E at 9 CST!!

  3. What great fun!! You are such a cool mom!! That show is so funny; it’s good to watch just to have some good laughs… “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.” Also, I love how the spouses show such respect for each other no matter the circumstance. They set an awesome example for their kids.
