Good Morning Friends!! Today I have a painted table before and after.

This little round table needed some love and new life!! It wasn’t bad, but the color of wood was just a little orange, shiny and it needed freshened up!!

I used a custom mix of  Maison Blanche Paint in Magnolia and Baguette for it!! And then light brown and clear waxes.

And after a little date with my paintbrush!! She looks like this!! 

 

Now you will have to forgive the pictures under the big shade tree!! The night before I got these last ones, I had taken all the ones I could carry out myself and snap photos.  But our neighbors were slowly coming out and I just didn’t think they’d understand the photo shoots of all the furniture!! I know I know… silly!! But these last few posts are all out in the front with heavy heavy pieces!!

I  love the how this simple table, now has such beautiful details.  And with the perfect distressing and use of the waxes to really highlight them!!

 

This table got 3 coats of this custom mix of white.  The trick when painting with lighter colors that might take more paint, is truly patience!! Walk away or for me I had 4 other pieces going.  Let it dry completely, so you are not taking away paint with your next coat.  I always start with a crumb coat- not a heavy one.  And then go heavier with the next ones.  But this allows the next ones to really stick!! 

 

All the distressing on this table was done with wipes and 400 grit sandpaper.  It is super super smooth.  Most people think you can’t get that with chalky paint but you can!! Sand between your coats with a high grit number and you will eliminate most of your brush strokes if not all!!

 

Remember to always open up the table tops and paint the lip on the inside- just looks better!! And you can always sand it really smooth to get that perfectly closed tight again!!
