It started out completely white and made for princess… It was of course the Disney Line of Furniture. But as you’ll see I think it’s much more fit for a princess now!!
I shared almost the whole process on Instagram… it was fun to have so many following along on how it progressed. Be sure you are following along there I love sharing the step by steps of what I do.
Here’s the Hand Painted Princess Furniture:
Before:
Her walls are Sherwin Williams Pink Flamingo on the dark back wall and Bella Pink on the side walls. And here’s a peek at her very beautiful bed… Gorgeous Raspberry Velvet Princess daybed.
So we chose to use Sherwin Williams Fussy Pink as the main big dresser color and Reverie Pink as the accent color.
Here’s how it came it along…
Using Webster’s Chalk Paint Powder I base coated the entire dresser in Sherwin Williams Fussy Pink.
I used Modern Masters Pharaoh’s Gold on all of the details. And painted all of those details out next. It is NOT an opaque paint. So each tiny detail and bead took about 4 coats. Yes a lot of time but it’s by far still my favorite gold metallic paint.
Next it was time to paint out the drawers. And they curve and it was a bit tricky but this is how I found it to work best… Because if you don’t tape off your lower beading you are again painting out that beading… lesson learned on a couple of drawers. I hate taping but I learned to love it for this step!!
Best method for stenciling is absolutely pouncing… with a stencil brush or in my case I love using the small wax brush from American Paint Company. Perfect…
I didn’t use any adhesive on the back. I held it along in place and made sure to pounce off the majority of paint onto the wrapping the stencil came in {from Hobby Lobby}
Next was stenciling the Harlequin Pattern from Cutting Edge Stencils { I have also used it here on a boy dresser– very versatile. I love it!! and love their line… here’s another stenciling How To}
Taped to the side and used same brush as above to pounce it out. And then went back and outlined in Gold- not with the same gold but a Sharpie Gold Paint Pen- it needed to be a one time line or it would be messy- yes I learned this lesson as well during this process!!
Now that it was all detailed out it was time to add “finishing details”. I used a variety of Martha Stewart’s Pearl and Glitter Paints. As well as, Maison Blanche Paint Company’s pearl gold Organza for the drawers, dresser top, and on the harlequin pattern. Topcoated entire piece with Modern Masters Master Clear in Semi-Gloss.
I painted out the mirror to coordinate. Here’s a quick tip I have share a long time ago {here}… use old paint chip cards, index cards, recycle anything you can fit snugly under the frame and tape down so it doesn’t pull up. It works like a charm and protects the glass and saves on clean up!!
Nightstand was done in a cute little coordinating less design intense but still so princess like!! She fits in a little corner.
Mom didn’t want it too matchy matchy.
I also did her sisters armoire for her room which I will share in another post… but if you are still with me… This is the happy little girl who loved the her new {old} furniture!!
Thanks for stopping in!! And I want to thank this big love… He has always supported me and always been there to help me when I need it most!! He truly is the muscles of this operation and he is always so encouraging and loves what I do as much as I do!! Thank you sweetie!! Plus he’s just so fun to work with… Look at that cheezer grin!!

This furniture is breathtaking!!! It’s by far the best furniture redo I have seen.
Did you paint the entire drawer and then come back and paint the gold beading? How did you keep the gold off of the pink? Amazing work!
i loooove this! I’m an seriously interested in buying a set similar. Do you take custom orders?
Hello…I’m trying to locate Lori, the painter of this Disney furniture. Any chance you’re still around Lori? I have a question if you are….Thanks
I think this furniture turned out amazing! I love the stencil done on the drawers. I checked out Hobby Lobby & Cutting Edge website and couldn’t find it. Do you know what the name of the pattern is? Also, did you use white paint for both stencil designs, I can’t tell on my monitor. Thank you, it is gorgeous!
I think Hobby Lobby has discontinued their pattern. The pattern name is zebra but Michael’s carries a stencil under animal print that has it. She used the lighter pink color for the stencil design.
I love yoyr work!!! You have made me interested in having my a very own pink dresser in my room, which is something I have never ever wanted in my 48 years. That’s how beautiful your work is to me

Hi,
Can you please tell me where you got the decals for the side of the dresser?
Kathy, they were hand painted on. The bling was from Hobby Lobby.
This has got to be the most artistic and one of the most beautiful makeovers i have seen online! Absolutely stunning!!! Thanks for sharing.
