How about both??!!
A few weeks ago, Maison Blanche Paint had a naming contest for our new Aqua color. You chose Riviera…. So, I am hoping it was for the French Riviera… It’s a beautiful place and a beautiful color!!! I teased you all day with sneak peeks on facebook!!
So help me welcome the new color!! I’d actually used the new color months ago, a couple of times!! I used it on this beautiful buffet that I never showed you because I was afraid you’d ask the color and it was under wraps… 🙂
And then I mixed it with another one of our colors to create this color to do another vanity. {click on highlighted text to go to that piece/post}
I got this sweet little vanity or dressing table from my neighbor across the street. And I just love how it turned out. It has a 1930’s Arkansas stamp on the back of the mirror. It’s in wonderful condition.
I knew I wanted to paint it fun, but when my table sold unexpectedly at the shop I had to get something up there quick… so new color and urgent need became this little beauty!!
I wanted to use a fun stencil on the inside of the knee area, but I chose something different than my favorite go to this time.. I feel like I have to be the last person to use chevron, but for this piece it just worked!! When painting older pieces like this, sometime you aren’t afforded the room to paint the drawers on the outside. But this piece allows for it to still pull in and out perfectly. So I also stenciled the drawers. And painted the insides in Miel {yellow} and a mixed berry color. I cut paper to fit tightly and placed in no glue- easy change out!!
Knobs are from Hobby Lobby and just were perfect!!
The whole piece was waxed using MB clear and Fiddes Jacobean and then drill brush buffed for that wonderful sheen.
So, I went and grabbed my neighbor to show her after I shot these pics and she loved it too!! So it’s up at the shop holding my waxes, varnishes, and others… until I can find another table to do up!! This one is for sale!!
Thank you for stopping in!! There will be more tomorrow!! ~ Lori

Sooooo beautiful!
I love it! I’m painting a few pieces of furniture myself, but yours look much better! 🙂
So pretty Lori! My favorite color! That chevron underneath could not have been easy. So worth it though!
I love it! I especially love how you tied in the sides of the drawers with the underside of the vanity. So cute!
You are a true artist. This is beyond darling Lori. So, so cute!!!
I love this color. Might have to check it out. Also, I need to get to Hobby Lobby to get some of those drawer pulls. 🙂
gorgeous! i love all your attention to the little details
That color is gorgeous! I love turquoise. It’s so fresh and pretty and if I could paint everything in my house that color, I would 🙂 Great job!
